Tauhu Goreng (Recipe from Mama T, 2 Mamas and A Wok)

INGREDIENTS (Serves 4 Pax)

300grams Uncooked Peanuts or Store Bought Roasted
Peanuts if you are lazy
4 pieces of Tau Kwa
150 grams Bean Sprouts
1 Cucumber, julienned
400grams Assam Paste
2 TBSP Black Soya Sauce
2 TBSP Sugar
2 TBSP of 2MAAW Sambal Belacan

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fry uncooked peanuts till the skin comes off easily, remove skin or open the pack of store-bought roasted peanuts
2. Blend the peanuts and set them aside
3. 4 cups of water. If you feel its too thick then add water bit by bit till its a consistency that you are happy with

4. Mix the peanuts, assam water, sugar, black sauce, and 2maaw’s sambal belacan. Mix well. Set aside
5. Blanch the taugay while you are pan-frying the taukwa. I usually slice it in half so it is thinner and easier to fry. Once its fried slice them into smaller pieces
6. Time to plate up. Place the taukwa on a plate top with the taugay, cucumber, and the peanut sauce
7. Enjoy!
